What did you want to be when you grew up?

as a child, what did you want to be, when you became an adult?

if you could, would you want to go back in time, and become what you wanted to be in the first place?.

as a child, i wanted to be a florist.

I intended to join the Air Force after High School then go to College then enter politics and become President of the United States.
I became a Witness at 15 so my goals changed to Pioneer then Gilead School then go as high in the organization as you could go without being anointed.
Now that I have come to my senses and I have left the Watchtower I have had some College I am active in politics and while I most likely won't become President my sights are on a seat in Congress.
Once in Congress maybe I can become the Vice-President to a sick old man in the White House. It worked for Harry Truman.

I used to listen to Dr Demento every Sunday night in the middle 70's. I would lock myself in my room and crank up the music. I would love to own a copy of that album.

I was given a Partridge Family LP as a gift that I never even took out of its jacket.
Scoobysnax: If you listen to the lyrics of Born In The USA it is not a pro-American song. Like the Guess Who's American Woman it is a criticism of America that the Right Wing mistakenly adopts as an anthem.

I do not own a horse but I have cousins that own large horse ranches in South Texas. I am more the singing cowboy myself.
Most Texans live in suburbs of big cities but they are still cowboys at heart. Though presently in exile in Oklahoma I will be back in Texas one day.
Pick ups are my favorite type of vehicle ( pronounced VEE HICK UHL )

perhaps a measure of the book's continuing influence may be estimated from the results of a survey conducted jointly by the library of congress and book-of-the-month club in 1991. the survey asked readers which books had made a difference in people's lives.

the results found atlas shrugged placing second only to the bible.

While Atlas Shrugged and the Fountainhead are Rands best known novels, my personal favorite is We The Living. It is as close to an autobiography as Rand ever came and I think the best story she ever wrote.
I am far from being upper class. My family is as white trash as they come and I have never made more then $20,000 a year. I was raised by a single mom on welfare and would not have been able to eat lunch at school or see a doctor without help from the government.
Ayn Rand's rugged individualism sounds like the American Way that I was taught by my Grandmother and her brothers.

Greeks win Eurovison Song Contest

anyway, mrs ozzie and i settled back to watching the euro song contest which is in its 50th year.

The only thing that makes me sorry to be an American is not getting to see the Eurovison Song Contest. The first time I heard of the contest was while watching a parody on the Benny Hill show in the 70's. I have been wanting to see the real thing for over 25 years.

Mimi Rogers and David Duchovny starred in a movie called, "The Rapture" They play a couple of swingers who get religion and alter their lives. Duchovny is killed at his job by a disgruntled employee and Rogers goes off into the desert to wait for Jesus. Just when you think these religious fanatics are as insane as Hollywood portrays them, the Rapture comes! If that were not shocking enough the ending had me gasping, oh... my... god!
